This reminds me a bit of FiloFax, that was a must-have for managers in the 80s/90s. Not sure if it was just a UK thing.

Never had one myself, but I think one of the ideas was that you had to copy all incomplete tasks to the next page. Similar to what you were saying, eventually it was easier to just do the task than to keep copying it.
